Yeah yesterday was the assembly. I go on stage because I von the first place on ICT. Before the program, I'm excused for the practice. We practice on the gym(where it's so hot). We were the last gruop to come up to the stage. I met the winner of the poster making constes. He's from the school Little Smarties somewhere in Makaiban. He is so talkative. After the practice I go straight in our classroom. I'm so lucky because we don't have any classes. We will clean the classroom unti 3pm. So, we clean the classroom. So it will be presentable to our parents. After that we go to the gym before the program starts. We are so nervous. I don't wanna tell the whole story. But this day was so fun. I got my card al my grades were goo. I got 77 on math. Hahaha. I need to study hard on math and also to other subjects. Luckily Ma'am did not post our ranks.

Maria Corazon "Cory" Cojuangco Aquino (January 25, 1933 – August 1, 2009) was a President of the Philippines and a world-renowned advocate of democracy, peace, women's empowerment, and religious piety. She served as the 11th president of the Philippines from 1986 to 1992. She was the first female president of the Philippines and was Asia's first female president.

A self-proclaimed "plain housewife",^[3] Aquino was married to Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr. (1932–1983), a leading figure in the political opposition against the autocratic rule of President Ferdinand Marcos. After her husband was assassinated upon his return from exile in the United States on August 21, 1983, Aquino, who had no prior political experience, became a focal point and unifying force of the opposition against Marcos. She was drafted to run against Marcos in the 1986 snap presidential elections. After Marcos was proclaimed the winner despite widespread reports of electoral fraud, Aquino was installed as President by the peaceful 1986 People Power Revolution.

Maria Corazon Cojuangco was born the sixth of eight children in Tarlac,^[4] a member of one of the richest Chinese-mestizo families in the Philippines.^[5]^[6] She was born to Jose Cojuangco of Tarlac and Demetria Sumulong of Antipolo, Rizal. Her ancestry was one-eighth Tagalog in her maternal side, one-eighth Kapampangan and one-fourth Spanish in her paternal side, and half-Chinese in both maternal and paternal sides.^{[citation needed]}

She was sent to St. Scholastica's College Manila and finished grade school as class valedictorian in 1943. In 1946, she studied high school for one year in Assumption Convent Manila. Later she was sent overseas to study in Ravenhill Academy in Philadelphia, the Notre Dame Convent School in New York, and the College of Mount Saint Vincent, also in New York.^[5] She worked as a volunteer in the 1948 United States presidential campaign of Republican Thomas Dewey against President Harry Truman.^[4] She studied liberal arts and graduated in 1953 with a Bachelor of Arts in French Language, with a minor in mathematics. She intended to become a math teacher and language interpreter.

Aquino returned to the Philippines to study law at the Far Eastern University, owned by the family of the late Nicanor Reyes, Sr., who had been the father-in-law of her older sister Josephine. She gave up her law studies^[7] when in 1954, she married Benigno Servillano "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr., the son of a former Speaker of the National Assembly. They had five children together: a son, Benigno Simeon Aquino III, who was elected to the Philippine Senate in 2007, and four daughters, Maria Elena A. Cruz, Aurora Corazon A. Abellada, Victoria Eliza A. Dee, and actress-television host Kristina Bernadette A. Yap. Aquino had initial difficulty adjusting to provincial life when she and her husband moved to Concepcion, Tarlac in 1955, after her husband had been elected the town's mayor at the age of 22. The American-educated Aquino found herself bored in Concepcion, and welcomed the opportunity for she and her husband to have dinner inside the American military facility at nearby Clark Field.^[8]

A member of the Liberal Party, Aquino's husband rose to be governor of Tarlac, and was elected to the Philippine Senate in 1967. During her husband's political career, Aquino remained a housewife who helped raise the children and played hostess to her spouse's political allies who would frequent their Quezon City home.^[6] She would decline to join her husband on stage during campaign rallies, preferring instead to stand at the back of the audience in order to listen to him.^[8] Nonetheless, she was consulted upon on political matters by her husband, who valued her judgments enormously.^[6]

Benigno Aquino soon emerged as a leading critic of the government of President Ferdinand Marcos of the Nacionalista Party, and there was wide speculation that he would run in the 1973 presidential elections, Marcos then being term limited. However, Marcos declared martial law on September 21, 1972, and later abolished the 1935 Constitution, allowing him to remain in office. Aquino's husband was among those arrested at the onset of martial law, later being sentenced to death. During his incarceration, Aquino drew strength from prayer, attending daily mass and saying three rosaries a day.^[8] As a measure of sacrifice, she enjoined her children from attending parties, and she herself stopped going to the beauty salon or buying new clothes, until a priest advised her and her children to instead live as normal lives as possible.^[8]

In 1978, despite her initial opposition, Aquino's imprisoned husband decided to run the 1978 Batasang Pambansa elections. Aquino campaigned in behalf of her imprisoned husband and for the first time in her life, delivered a political speech,^[3]^[8] though she willingly relinquished having to speak in public when it emerged that her six-year old daughter Kris was more than willing to speak on stage.^[8]

In 1980, upon the intervention of United States President Jimmy Carter,^[3] Marcos allowed Senator Aquino and his family to leave for exile in the United States, where he sought medical treatment.^[5] The family settled in Boston, and Aquino would later call the next three years as the happiest days of her marriage.^[3] He returned without his family to the Philippines on August 21, 1983, only to be assassinated on the tarmac of the Manila International Airport, which was later renamed in his honor. Aquino returned to the Philippines a few days later and led her husband's funeral rites, where more than two million people were estimated to have participated, the biggest ever in Philippine history. .^[3]

Aquino participated in many of the mass actions that were staged in the two years following the assassination of her husband. In the last week of November 1985, Marcos unexpectedly announced a snap presidential election to be held in February 1986.^[9] Initially, Senator Salvador Laurel of Batangas, the son of a former president, was seen as the favorite presidential candidate of the opposition, under the United Nationalists Democratic Organizations. However, business tycoon Don Joaquin "Chino" Roces was not convinced that Laurel could defeat Marcos in the polls. Roces initiated the Cory Aquino for President Movement to gather one million signatures in one week for Aquino to run as president.

Aquino was reluctant at first to run for presidency, despite pleas that she was the one candidate who could unite the opposition against Marcos.^[6] She eventually was convinced following a ten-hour meditation session at a Catholic convent.^[4] Laurel did not immediately accede to calls for him to give way to Aquino, and offered her the vice-presidential slot under his UNIDO party. Aquino instead offered to give up her affiliation with her husband's political party, the Lakas ng Bayan (LABAN), which had just merged with Partido Demokratiko Pilipino, and run under the UNIDO banner with Laurel sliding down to the vice-presidential slot.^[6] Laurel gave way to Aquino to run as President and ran as her running-mate under UNIDO as the main political umbrella of the opposition.

In the succeeding political campaign, Marcos charged that Aquino was being supported by communists and agreed to share power with them, to which she responded that she would not appoint one to her cabinet.^[10] Marcos also accused Aquino of playing "political football" with the United States with respect to the continued United States military presence in the Philippines at Clark Air Base and Subic Naval Base.^[11] Marcos also derided Aquino as "just a woman" whose place was in the bedroom.^[3]

The elections held on February 7, 1986 were marred by the intimidation and mass disenfranchisement of voters.^[6] Election day itself and the days immediately after were marred by violence, including the murder of one of Aquino's top allies, Antique governor Evelio Javier. While the official tally of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) consistently showed Marcos in the lead, the unofficial tally of the National Movement for Free Elections indicated that Aquino was leading. Despite the job walkout of 30 COMELEC computer technicians alleging election-rigging in favor of Marcos,^[6] the Batasang Pambansa, controlled by Marcos allies, ratified the official count and proclaimed Marcos the winner on February 15, 1986.^[12] The country's Catholic bishops and the United States Senate condemned the election,^[6] and Aquino called for a general strike and a boycott of business enterprises controlled by Marcos allies.^[13] She also rejected a power-sharing agreement proposed by the American diplomat Philip Habib, who had been sent as an emissary by U.S. President Ronald Reagan to help defuse the tension.^[13]

On February 22, 1986, the People Power Revolution was triggered after two key Marcos allies, Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile and Armed Forces Vice-Chief of Staff Fidel Ramos called on Marcos to resign and holed up in two military camps in Quezon City.^[13] Aquino, who was in Cebu City when the revolt broke out, returned to Manila and insisted on joining the swelling crowd that had gathered outside the camps as a human barricade to protect the defectors.^[14] On the morning of 25 February 1986, at the Club Filipino in San Juan, Aquino took the presidential oath of office administered by Supreme Court Associate Justice Claudio Teehankee. Marcos himself was sworn into office at Malacañang Palace on that same day, but fled into exile later that night.

The relatively peaceful manner by which Aquino assumed the presidency through the EDSA Revolution won her widespread international acclaim as an icon of democracy. She was selected as Time magazine's Woman of the Year in 1986. She was also nominated to receive the Nobel Peace Prize but lost to Elie Wiesel also in 1986. In September 1986, Aquino delivered a speech before a joint session of the United States Congress which was interrupted by applause several times, and which then U.S. House Speaker Tip O'Neill hailed as "the finest speech I've ever heard in my 34 years in Congress." Above the din of cheering officials, Senate Majority Leader Robert Dole said to Mrs. Aquino, "Cory, you hit a home run." Without missing a beat, Aquino smiled and shot back: "I hope the bases were loaded."[15]

The six-year administration of President Aquino saw the enactment of a new Philippine Constitution and several significant legal reforms, including a new agrarian reform law. While her allies maintained a majority in both houses of Congress, she faced considerable opposition from communist insurgency and right-wing soldiers who instituted several coup attempts against her government. Her government also dealt with several major natural disasters that struck the Philippines, as well as a severe power crisis that hampered the Philippine economy. It was also during her administration that the presence of United States military bases in the Philippines came to an end.

One month after assuming the presidency, Aquino issued Proclamation No. 3, which proclaimed her government as a revolutionary government. She suspended the 1973 Constitution installed during martial law, and promulgated a provisional “Freedom Constitution” pending the enactment of a new Constitution.[16] She likewise closed the Batasang Pambansa and reorganized the membership of the Supreme Court. In May 1986, the reorganized Supreme Court declared the Aquino government as “not merely a de facto government but in fact and law a de jure government”, whose legitimacy had been affirmed by the community of nations.[17]

Aquino appointed 48 members of a Constitutional Commission tasked with drafting a new Constitution. The commission, which was chaired by retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Cecilia Muñoz-Palma completed its final draft in October 1986[18] The 1987 Constitution was approved in a national plebiscite in February 1987. Both the “Freedom Constitution” and the 1987 Constitution authorized President Aquino to exercise legislative power until such time a new Congress was organized.[19] She continued to exercise such powers until the new Congress organized under the 1987 Constitution convened in July 1987. Within that period, Aquino promulgated two legal codes that set forth significant legal reforms—the Family Code of 1987, which reformed the civil law on family relations, and the Administrative Code of 1987, which reorganized the structure of the executive branch of government.

However, as President instead of repudiating debts incurred by the former regime or repudiating the debts through selective debt repudiation Mrs. Aquino chose to honor the debts to the detriment of the country.[20]In 1991, Aquino signed into law the Local Government Code partly written by Aquilino Pimentel, which further devolved national government powers to local government units. The new Code enhanced the power of local government units to enact local taxation measures, and assured them of a share of the national internal revenue.

On July 22, 1987, Aquino issued Presidential Proclamation 131 and Executive Order 229, which outlined the President’s land reform program, and expanded land reform to sugar lands. Her agrarian reform policy was enacted into law by the 8th Congress of the Philippines, which in 1988 passed Republic Act No. 6657, also known as “The Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law”. The law authorized the redistribution of agricultural lands to tenant-farmers from landowners, who were paid in exchange by the government just compensation and allowed to retain not more than five hectares of land.[21] Corporate landowners were also allowed under the law to “voluntarily divest a proportion of their capital stock, equity or participation in favor of their workers or other qualified beneficiaries”, in lieu of turning over their land to the government for redistribution.[22] The Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the law in 1989, characterizing the agrarian reform policy as “a revolutionary kind of expropriation.”[23]

Prior to signing CARP a large farmer's group under Jimmy Tadeo tried desperately to air their grievances to the government. Among their grievances was the desire of peasants and farmers to acquire the land being tilled by them. However, instead of holding a dialogue with Heherson Alvarez, the group marched to Mendiola; as the group of farmers tried to breach the line of the police, several Marines fired, killing around 12 of the marchers and injuring 39. This caused Ka Pepe Diokno and several members of the Aquino government to resign. [24]

Controversies eventually centered on the landholdings of Aquino, who inherited from her parents the 6,453-hectare large Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac, which was owned through the Tarlac Development Company.[25] Opting for the stock distribution option under the agrarian reform law, Tarlac Development Company established Hacienda Luisita, Incorporated (HLI) in order to effect the distribution of stocks to the farmer-tenants of the hacienda. Ownership of the agricultural portions of the hacienda were transferred to the new corporation, which in turn distributed its shares of stocks to the farmers.[25] The arrangement withstood until 2006, when the Department of Agrarian Reform revoked the stock distribution scheme implemented in Hacienda Luisita, and ordered instead the redistribution of a large portion of the property to the tenant-farmers.[26] The Department had stepped into the controversy when in 2004, violence erupted over the retrenchment of workers in the Hacienda, eventually leaving seven people dead.[25]

From 1986 to 1989, Aquino was confronted with a series of attempts[27] at military interventions by some members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, aimed at the overthrow of the Aquino government. Most of these attempts were instigated by the Reform the Armed Forces Movement (RAM), a group of middle-ranking officers closely linked with Defense Secretary Juan Ponce Enrile.[28] Soldiers loyal to former President Marcos were likewise involved in some of these attempts. The first five of the attempts were either crushed before they were put in operation, or repelled with minimal or no violence. The sixth attempt, staged on August 28, 1987, left 53 people dead and over 200 wounded, including Aquino's son, Noynoy.[29] The seventh and final attempt, which occurred throughout the first week of January, 1989, ended with 99 dead (including 50 civilians) and 570 wounded.[30]

The coup attempts would collectively impair the Aquino government, even though it survived, as it indicated political instability, an unruly military, and diminished the confidence of foreign investors in the Philippine economy.[31] The 1989 coup alone resulted in combined financial losses of between 800 million to 1 billion pesos.[32]

The November 1986 and August 1987 coup plots would also lead to significant reorganizations within the Aquino government. Given the apparent involvement of Defense Secretary Enrile in the November 1986 plot, a fact which was reaffirmed by the Davide Commission Report,[33] Aquino fired him on November 22, 1986, and likewise announced an overall Cabinet revamp, "to give the government a chance to start all over again."[34] The revamp would lead to the dismissal of Labor Secretary Augusto Sanchez, a perceived leftist, which was believed to be a compromise measure in light of a key rebel demand to cleanse the Cabinet of left-leaning members.[35] Following the August 1987 coup attempt, the Aquino government was seen to have veered to the right, dismissing perceived left-leaning officials such as Executive Secretary Joker Arroyo and tacitly authorizing the establishment of armed quasi-military groups to combat the communist insurgency.[36] It was also believed that General Fidel Ramos, who remained loyal to Aquino, emerged as the second most powerful person in government following his successful quelling of the coup.[37] Across-the-board wage increases for soldiers were also granted.[38]

Aquino herself would sue Philippine Star columnist Louie Beltran for libel and publisher Maximo Soliven after he wrote that the President had hid under her bed during the August 1987 coup as the siege of Malacañang began.

The Aquino administration faced a series of natural disasters during its last two years in office. The 1990 Luzon earthquake left around 1,600 dead, with around a thousand of the fatalities in Baguio City. The 1991 eruption of the long-dormant Mount Pinatubo was the second largest terrestrial eruption of the 20th century,[39] killing around 300 people and causing widespread long-term devastation of agricultural lands in Central Luzon. The worst loss of life occurred when Tropical Storm Thelma (also known as Typhoon Uring) caused massive flooding in Ormoc City in November 1991, leaving around 6,000 dead in what was the deadliest typhoon in Philippine history.

It was during the term of Corazon Aquino that brownouts became sporadic and a lot of households during that time bought generators. Complaints were made against Napocor which was headed by Aboitiz who also owns shares in a firm making generators. It was also during Aquino's term that the MV Doña Paz sank, which is the worst maritime disaster in Philippine history. The disaster occurred in December 1987 which killed more than 1,700 people.
The Philippine Constitution bars a President from serving more than one six-year term; as a result, Aquino was not eligible to run in the 1992 Philippine elections. Instead, Aquino backed her Defense Secretary Fidel V. Ramos (after initially naming Ramon Mitra, Jr., her former Agriculture Secretary and then Speaker of the House of Representatives, as her candidate), Marcos' armed forces vice-chief of staff whose defection to the Aquino party proved crucial to the popular revolution. This decision was unpopular among many of her core supporters, including the Roman Catholic Church (Ramos is a Protestant). Ramos narrowly won with just 23.58 percent of the vote, and succeeded Aquino as president on June 30, 1992.

Following the end of her term, Aquino retired to private life. When she rode away from the inauguration of her successor, she chose to go in a simple white Toyota Crown she had purchased (rather than the government-issue Mercedes), to make the point that she was once again an ordinary citizen.[40]

Aquino led the PinoyME Foundation, a non-profit organization that assists microfinance institutions through the provision of loans.[41] She also oversaw social welfare and scholarship assistance projects through the Benigno S. Aquino Foundation, and good governance advocacy through the EDSA People Power Commission, and the People Power People Movement.

President Aquino was likewise a member of the Council of Women World Leaders, an International network of current and former women presidents and prime ministers whose mission is to mobilize the highest-level women leaders globally for collective action on issues of critical importance to women and equitable development.

Aquino was a skilled painter, and was fond of giving her own paintings as gifts to her close friends and acquaintances, including world leaders, diplomats, and corporate executives.[42]

Aquino continued to speak out on political issues. In the 1998 presidential elections, she supported the candidacy of Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, who placed fifth.[43] In January 2001, Aquino played an active role in the second EDSA Revolution which ousted President Joseph Estrada and installed Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to the presidency.[44] In 2005, Aquino condemned President Macapagal-Arroyo for allegedly rigging the 2004 presidential elections.[45] She was a visible participant in mass demonstrations against the Arroyo government and called for the President's resignation.[46]

In December 2008, Aquino publicly expressed some regrets for her participation in the 2001 EDSA Revolution and apologized to former President Joseph Estrada, who had been ousted following that revolt, in his presence.[47] An Aquino spokesperson however later clarified that Aquino's remarks were taken out of context, they having been made in jest at a light-hearted affair.[48]

In the 2007 senatorial elections, Aquino actively campaigned for her only son, Benigno III, in his successful bid for a Senate seat.

After leaving the presidency, Aquino received several awards and citations. In 1994, Aquino was cited as one of 100 Women Who Shaped World History in a reference book written by Gail Meyer Rolka and published by Bluewood Books in San Francisco, California.[49] In 1996, she received the J. William Fulbright Prize for International Understanding from the Fulbright Association, joining past recipients such as Jimmy Carter and Nelson Mandela.[50] In August 1999, Aquino was chosen by Time Magazine as one of the 20 Most Influential Asians of the 20th century.[51] The same magazine cited her in November 2006 as one of 65 great Asian Heroes, along with Mahatma Gandhi, Deng Xiaoping, Aung San Suu Kyi, Lee Kuan Yew, and King Bhumibol Adulyadej.[52] In January 2008, the Europe-based A Different View selected Aquino as one of the 15 Champions of World Democracy, alongside Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Jr., Lech Wałęsa, and Vaclav Havel.[citation needed]

In 2002, Aquino became the first woman named to the Board of Governors of the Board of the Asian Institute of Management, a leading graduate business school and think tank in the Asia Pacific region.[53] She served on the Board until 2006.[54]

On March 24, 2008, the Aquino family announced that the former President had been diagnosed with colon cancer.[55] While she had initially been informed by her doctors that she had only three months to live,[56] Aquino pursued chemotherapy. In public remarks made on May 13, 2008, she announced that blood tests indicated that she was responding positively to the medical treatment.[57]

By July 2009, Aquino was reported to be in a very serious condition and confined to Makati Medical Center due to loss of appetite.[58] It was announced that Aquino and her family had decided to cease chemotherapy and other medical interventions.[59][60]

All Roman Catholic dioceses had started requiem masses for Aquino, after they held "healing masses".[63] Meanwhile, the government declared a week of mourning for her death.[64] Former President Estrada said that they lost a "mother" and a "guiding voice of the people." Aquino supported Estrada's removal from office in 2001, but the two supported each other to oppose amendments in the constitution since last year.[65] The Senate has also expressed its grieving with Aquino's death; Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, who along with Fidel Ramos launched the People Power Revolution, asked the public to pray for her. Minority leader Aquilino Pimentel, who previously served as interior and local government secretary during her administration, had "mixed feelings" with Aquino's passing, saying "We shall be forever indebted to Cory for rallying the nation behind the campaign to topple dictatorial rule and restore democracy."[66]

International figures expressed their grief, with United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton noting that Aquino was "admired by the world for her extraordinary courage". White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said that "Her courage, determination, and moral leadership are an inspiration to us all and exemplify the best in the Filipino nation." Other ambassadors also sent their messages of condolence following her passing.[67]

Aquino was portrayed by Laurice Guillen in the 1988 HBO miniseries A Dangerous Life.

Aquino was a main character in Boy Noriega's 1987 stage comedy Bongbong at Kris, about an imagined romantic coupling between the youngest son of Ferdinand Marcos and the youngest daughter of the Aquinos.

She was portrayed by Tess Villarama in the movie Ilaban Mo, Bayan Ko: The Obet Pagdanganan Story in 1997.

In 2004, Aquino was portrayed by Irma Adlawan in the miniseries Sa'yo Lamang.

In 2008, a musical play about Aquino starring Isay Alvarez as Aquino, was staged at the Meralco Theater. Entitled Cory, the Musical, it was written and directed by Nestor Torre and featured a libretto of 19 original songs composed by Lourdes Pimentel, wife of Senator Aquilino Pimentel.[68][69][70]

Aquino died of cardiopulmonary arrest after complications of colon cancer[61] at the age of 76 on August 1, 2009, 3:18 a.m., at the Makati Medical Center.[2] Aquino was diagnosed with the disease in March 2008 but kept up public appearances this year. A devout Catholic, she was a regular at weekend mass until shortly before being admitted to hospital in late June.

"Our mother peacefully passed away at 3:18 a.m. (19:18 GMT Friday) of cardio-respiratory arrest," her son, Senator Benigno Aquino III, told reporters in Manila.[62]

St. Aloysius Gonzaga, also known as Luigi Gonzaga, was born March 9, 1568 in Lombardy, Italy. His father was a compulsive gambler who wanted Aloysius to grow up to be a war hero. Aloysius grew up in a castle, and by age four he was trained as a soldier and a courtier. When he was twelve, he recieved his First Communion from St. Charles Borromeo. At about age 13, he made a resolution to become a Jesuit. Aloysius prevailed and "won" a four year "contest" with his father and was allowed to enter the seminary. Four more years were passed studying philosophy with St. Robert Bellarmine as his spiritual advisor. Plague struck Rome in 1591. During the plague, St. Aloysius worked in the Jesuit hospital nursing the infected. It wasn't long before he himself became sick. Although he remained in a weakened state, his prayer life remained strong. St. Aloysius died in the Octave of Corpus Christi on June 21, 1591. He was 23.

Summer at home.

I think we'll spend this summer at home. It's alright because even though I don't go out much, I still enjoy. There's no place like home. =))

My cousin, Patricia sometimes sleeps over in the house so we sleep together. Not necessarily sleep because we stay up late. Sometimes we just exchange stories and text a lot. We go silly even though it's already midnight. We laugh and disturb those who sleep. Okay, bad girls. :)) We sleep in the study room, sit on the window sill and jump over the fences. We watched the katay ng baboy sometime. That was my first time to see a pig being killed. I was lucky because those who slaughtered the pig were our friends. They even told us about the pig anatomy. :)

This summer also, we're just cleaning the house and putting things back in order.
In order, yeah, because if we have school our things are just scattered. No order at all. So I guess, that's what we can do. To make the most of our summer, we have sleepovers and cleaning of the house. The other activities, they're just bonuses. :D

...di namin alam ung news dat Francis M is dead just our teacher said na may nagtxt daw sa kanya na patay na c Kiko all of us didn't belive until I go to Lianne's house we research about it. It's true Kiko passed away.

MANILA, Philippines - Master Rapper Francis Magalona, 44, passed away Friday. Vic Sotto confirmed the news over GMA's noontime show "Eat Bulaga" and asked for a minute of prayer for the eternal repose of the singer-composer's soul.

A doctor at the hospital who requested anonymity told reporters that Magalona succumbed to multiple organ failure "secondary to severe sepsis and secondary to pneumonia."

Magalona is survived by his wife Pia Maria Arroyo-Magalona and his eight children, including celebrity Maxine Magalona.

Magalona's battle with the illness was made public last year.

The 44-year-old singer-composer told the Philippine Entertainment Portal in December 2008 that he survived a delicate medical condition days before he was dispatched from a hospital.

"Akala ko kasi magki-Christmas ako sa ospital, e, [I thought I would spend Christmas in the hospital] because I had a very, very, very close brush with death last December 4. I went into septic shock and it was a very scary moment," he said in an earlier interview.

It was announced last year that Magalona was scheduled for a bone marrow transplant.

"My doctor said I'm in remission right now after my third chemo cycle. So, my next move would be to do the bone marrow transplant and I'm very happy to announce that I was able to find a match. One of my sisters from the States we have the same tissue typing so she would be my donor," he added.

When Jordan returned with the doctor, they were both shocked to see Ann, laughing, trying to hurt everyone she sees.
Since then, Ann has lost her mind and got checked in a mental hospital. Ann has never stopped laughing ever since. Marco has never forgiven Ann for finding a new guy.
And Marco has promised that anyone who finds out about his story will suffer the same fate as Ann...

kaya ko ito na sabi kasi so much fun! my best friend from Japan came home last January 15... After ilang years we met again. sobrang saya nga namin magkasama. Friends are 4ever talaga eh.. Fiesta January 18 nandito classmates ko. hahaha! nandito rin ung best friend ko. sobrang lakas namin tumawa because we missed each other. tagal namin nagkasama.... at umalis sya... sa pagbabalik nya sulitin natin hahaha!!! sabi ko sa isip ko.. masaya kami ng sobra... halos everyday me and my bestfriend magasama. Kaya ang worst week ko naging OKS NA OKS na palitan nga sobrang sobrang sayang week... lagi kamimagkasama araw gabi hehehe... magkatxt minsan. we're just enjoying our lives. sa piling ng isa't isa. sana 'di na lang sya bumalik sa Japan para napakasaya ko na araw-araw.. pero 'di na pwede kasi Jpanese Citizen na sla. 'di na pwde magtagal dito..

i really hate this week sana hindi na lang ako pumasok.napagalitan ako dahil sa kasalanan ng iba. hahaha! i like to tell to that teacher kaya ko lang nasabi na "ang corni" dahil in a 4 words... na TSUNAMI AY SI NAMI.. not intentionally ko na sinabi sakto lng nagsasalita sya akala nya pinagsabihan ko sya na ang corni.... kaysa pa ako magpaliwanag at sasabihin din ng mga classmates ko palusot lng ako di na ako nagsalita tungkol dun... meron pa ngawa ung teacher na iyon na napakasakit para sa isang tao.... PARIS (AFP) – A few lucky people in the Indian Ocean will be treated to a rare event on Monday when an annular solar eclipse will transform the Sun into a dark disc with a blazing ring-shaped corona around its rim.

In solar eclipses, the Moon moves between the Sun and Earth, casting its shadow on the terrestrial surface.

In an annular eclipse, a tiny shift in distance that results from celestial mechanics means the Moon does not completely cover the Sun's face, as it does in a total eclipse.

Instead, for those directly under the alignment, the Moon covers most of the Sun's surface, and a ring-like crown of solar light blazes from the edge of the disk.

For those watching from the fringe of the track, the Sun is partially obscured, as if a bite has been taken out of it.

According to veteran NASA eclipse-watcher Fred Espenak, the total eclipse track will run from west to east on Monday from 0606 GMT to 0952 GMT.

It will traverse the Indian Ocean and western Indonesia before petering out just short of Mindanao, the Philippines.

The partial eclipse will be seen in a much wider swathe, including the southern third of Africa, Madagascar, Australia, Southeast India, Southeast Asia and Indonesia.

It will be the only annular solar eclipse this year. The last was on 7 February, 2007, and after Monday, the next one will be on 15 January, 2010.

The big event for eclipse junkies this year is on July 22, when a total solar eclipse will be visible from India and China, the world's two most populous countries.

i saw and met her!

I was awaken by the lights. Mama turned on the lights in our bedroom. It was 4:30 in the morning. This is the day! Umagang Kay Ganda will be having a live coverage in our place. I went to the kitchen to eat while Mama is still taking a bath. After her, it's my turn. It was really cold. I took a bath, wore my school uniform then went to the patio of the church. Cameras were all over the place. They also brought a mini-satellite with them. After a few minutes, an ABS-CBN van arrived. It parked in front of us, just across the street. I saw Ms. Winnie Cordero, putting on make-up. When she's done, she went outside of the van and talked to the crew. The crew were near me and my cousin. One of the crew was talking to me. Grabe ang bilis talaga, friends na kaagad kami nung isang crew member. Napag-usapan namin yung ABS, akala niya nagworkshop ako dun. Well, gusto ko naman talaga mag-workshop! :) Then he went to the other side of the street to buy pandesal. He asked me to get one but I refused, saying "araw-araw ko na yan kinakain. kayo na lang kumain". He laughed then gave Ms. Winnie a pandesal. She said "ang sarap naman!". She also bought pandesal, a lot of pandesal! She stayed with us for a while then it's time for her to be on air. She was waving to us, smiling also. We had our picture taken together. She's really nice and friendly. Too bad I wasn't able to finish the live coverage because I still need to go to school. I came in late[in school] but happy. Meeting her is truly memorable. Sometimes, I think of being a journalist or newscaster. :)

This week all we do is practice... Mula 1:00 until 5:00 kaya no tym mag online. Monday we checked our test papers i got high score.. Nakamit ko ang goal ko sa science 90% ang nakuha ko. Teacher Lanie is back. Mrs. Lanie is pregnant she is absent for 3 months sympre after manganak pahinga muna. We have elimination deh ako nakapasok sa ilan but i got the score 8 out of 10 in HKS. Dapat sasali ako pero parang no tym to review because of our practice. Kase today i love science and i hat na math. Cguro i like to be an scientis someday. All we do this week is to practice. Sana nga daw buong araw kami may practice para deh na mag aral eh.. Everyday may kasabay na ako umuwi c Myka. Makulit sya at madaldal. Since grade 2 sya nag aral sa montessori. Nung una she don't like to speak but mag ka tutor kami then she promise me that on next school year she will speak. Pero sobra naman. Noisiest na nga sya ngaun sa sa mga girls ehehehe... I have a classmate crush nya isang high school name Jhon paul. Ang naman naman ng classmate ko Lianne. Ngaun deh na crush ni Lianne c Jhon Paul but Jhon Paul always wacthing us and titigna titig kay Lianne. When Lianne and chatted on Thursday. Sabi ko sa kanya baka may gusto na sau c Jhon Paul. Pwede un magyari ehehehe...

On monday na birthday ko. Ang swerte ko nga on my birthday abs-cbn will go here at the church.. Luckly tapat lang namin un simbahan. Sabi ng mga classsmates ko may exposure daw ako. Kumaway daw ako sa camera papanoorin daw nila ako. Ngaun lang i saw the abs-cbn car at the church tapos inanaayis ata ang set. May guard at nakita ko c bungi(i won't mention thee name)... Cguro on monday may artista sana mero ehehehe.... Naglolokohan nga kami sa school eh.. Mag pa autograph daw kami sa kung sino man artista ang pupunta ehehe... Wish ko sana c kim chui kasama..... I’m not sure if Filipino teenagers under 16 should be allowed to watch this TV series. On one hand, it contains sensitive ideas like HIV, pre-marital sex and prostitution. Should our teens be exposed to these? On another, why should they not? Exposing them early on may make them more responsible individuals.

Precious Time (God Please Give Me More Time) is a Japanese drama about Masaki (Kyoko Fukuda), a Tokyo girl in love with a famous music producer, Keigo (Takeshi Kaneshiro). At the time of Keigo’s concert, Masaki lost her wallet in which she had kept the concert tickets. Desperate to watch the concert and at least see Keigo, she slept with a stranger for money.

Like fantasy, she met Keigo after the concert and they spend the night together. From that moment, Masaki sees direction to her life, like she now knows what she is living for. She immediately ordered an HIV test, and to her sorrow, she is positive. She got it from the stranger she slept with.

I admire Japanese writers on tackling delicate issues like this on TV. It is much more like an episode in Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Keigo has just lost his girlfriend, and he had been depressed since then. Like Masaki, he feels like he has no reason to live. But when he met Masaki, he knew he still wants to be alive. Masaki had not infected him. But Keigo feels he must take care of Masaki.

Watching it gives me a break from the usual local drama that we have. And what is fun about watching Precious Time is that there are only four commercials at most, and most of them are just promotions. You don’t have to wait another five minutes for the next scene.

The scenes I love the most are when Masaki would slump on her bed after a long useless day. Then the phone would ring. It was Keigo. And Masaki’s world would start turning again.

Maybe our teens should see this. The series is creatively crafted unlike Eva Fonda which is unadvisable.

we go to the Naia2(Ninoy Aquino International Airport) to fetch my aunt and uncle from Canada. we leave at our around five. in way to Bocaue has traffic so my ninang decided to go to another way. hindi ako makapag unli nung tym na ung cguro lang unli kagabi. wala pa akong katxt nun. when we arrive in Manila I'm so hungry buti na lang we go to KFC. when my cellphone vibrate that i can use na my unli and i texted my friend kacy(our president and our 1st honor).. i texted her that we go to Manila and I'm so hungry.. buti na lang kumain kami kung hindi gutom na ako ng bonggang bongga.. we ariived around 9 in KFC and we live around 10.. we go to the airport around 11.. we go inside of the airport and waiting.. grabe kwentohan kami ng nakakatuwa nung tym na un.. after that me and my ninang go inside the airpot to get some news.. i saw an korean, japanese and many more.. halos hindi ko maintindihan ung pinagsasabi nila.. after a few moments my ninang saw my titio and tita then after that we go home extactly 2am.. nagkwentohan sila then we go to sleep around 3.. then i woke up around 7am

We started preparing the food for our Noche Buena. Mix mix mix!

Angela and I were in-charge of making the Buko Salad. :)

After tasting what we made, we gave our neighbors some. Ning, Mariz, Angela and I delivered it. Before we gave it to our neighbors, we sang We Wish You A Merry Christmas. So akala nila, mamamasko kami. Bukas nalang daw! Tigpipiso daw kami. :P

Our bodies are really hurt all of us!. Nagawa ko pang magapitbahay, kahit sobrang sakit na ng katawan ko. We are all happy here. My classmates is nagwawala d2. Napaka hirap nung steps na napunta saamin. Good thing nakapunta ako to Angela's house kahit papano namawala ang sakit ng katawan ko. Halos mabaliw na kami dun sa kanila. I've finish the pizza... Without mistakes hehehe. I do all 40 candy pizzas. I've got many golds and I can donate more to club penguin's Coins for Change. We may donate it to street children and many more. They said KIDS HELP KIDS that's true! I love pizza!... I do it all without mistakes beacuse i lo it so much!... I always open my club pebguin account.. but now so busy practicing dance for our foundation week celebration on January I less open my account in club penguin. I always use my cousin's account she need help in Card-jitsu. She mastered it. She's now red belter 18 more wins to get the next belt... 19 wins for the brown belt and 20 for black belt. My account Patricia_marie5678 is now a black belter. To be a ninja you should fight with sensie but he always win. I can't be a ninja to go to the seceret place.
BTW, I caught again a big fish called mullet. It's so big than the penguin. It's has an picture or midel in the Ski lodge in the Club Penguin. In club penguin it's snowing all the servers are full beacuse of the Card-jitsu. You can get sante veards and santa hat there. You can see an ice rink int the dock near in the light house. And the new pin is in the Ski lodge. The santa beards is in the Ski Village and the santa hats is in the Snow Forts. In club penguin there song is pang christmas hehehe.

Marky Cielo is dead????

I'm shock when I heard some high school students talking about Marky Cielo... They said "Patay na daw si Marky Cielo, binangungut daw!..." Some of my classmates talking about it too.. Totoo nga na patay na si Marky, it is in the news daw yesterday!...

Research about him:

Marky Cielo was found dead at his home in Antipolo yesterday morning. According to initial reports, the cause of his death was bangungot. He was 20.

Marky's death reminds one of the untimely demise of Rico Yan six years ago in Dos Palmas Resort, Palawan. Marky's body was brought to St. Peter's Antipolo.

A STAR source says that Marky confided to his actor-friend that he had been receiving death threats prior his death. In another report, it was his mother, Mildred who found him dead in their home.

The family is waiting for the results of an investigation regarding Marky's death before issuing an official statement.

Marky entered showbusiness through the artista search StarStruck in 2005 and became the Ultimate Sole Survivor in 2006. He won the nod of the judges and the public through his dancing talent and charisma. He was the first half-Igorot to win the reality-talent search.

Bermuda Triangle

The infamous ‘Bermuda Triangle’ is a region located in the northwestern Atlantic Ocean. It is one of the two places on earth where a compass will not point to true, magnetic north. A lot of people hold that the laws of physics do not apply here! Over the course of several years, Bermuda Triangle has devoured so many aircrafts and ships passing through it that it has come to be called the ‘Devil’s Triangle’.

A lot has been said and written about it. Numerous documentaries attempting to investigate the Bermuda Triangle have been made and screened. What resulted as consequence is a mix of facts, theories, mysteries and myths associated with the infamous Bermuda Triangle. But, never one solid consistent explanation! So read to apprise yourself about different aspects of the Bermuda Triangle.

Bermuda Triangle Interesting Facts

Location - The Bermuda Triangle or the Devil’s Triangle is located around the east coast of Florida and Peurto Rico. A little portion of this triangle also spills into the area next to South Carolina.

Absolute Location – Spread over a huge body of water in the Atlantic Ocean, the Bermuda Triangle does not possess a definite absolute location. But it can be said to lie in-between 80-90 degrees west and 30-20 degrees north.

Bermuda Triangle is infamous For - Over 66 airplanes and ships passing through the Bermuda Triangle have been known to have got sucked into down forever. No information was derived about them. The most notorious disappearance was that of an airplane by the name ‘Flight 19’. It disappeared some 30 years ago and has not been seen since.

Description - The Bermuda Triangle is a windy, but sunny region. Winds blowing over the region have a speed of around 10 miles m.p.h. The region does not have distinct seasons.

Bermuda Triangle Mystery & Myths

More than a 100 separate mysterious disappearances of aircrafts and ships are known to have occurred in the Bermuda Triangle region. Some really gigantic vessels like the USS Cyclops and the SS Marine Sulphur Queen have got lost in it.

Famous Italian explorer, Christopher Columbus jotted down many gripping recordings in his dairy during his journey of the Devil's Triangle in 1492. He mentioned about weird magnetic deviances in his navigation instruments. Unusual lights were noticed on the horizon. The Italian explorer has also talked about a ‘great flame of fire’ in his writings that crashed into the ocean.

A mysterious episode took place in 1872. A vessel ‘Mary Celeste’ had left for Genoa on 7 November 1872. On 4 December 1872, the crew on the Dei Gratia spotted this vessel and was alarmed by how randomly it was sailing. When they approached the ship, they found it entirely vacant. Even the lifeboat was not to be found despite the fact that the ship was otherwise in perfect condition.

The vanishing of Flight 19 tops the Bermuda Triangle collection of myths and mysteries. On 5 December 1945, five Navy Avengers went missing while on a standard training mission in the Atlantic. The patrol leader, Lt. Charles Taylor had radioed Florida the following strange message - "Control tower this is an emergency. We seem to be off course. We seem to be lost. We can't make out where we are". When instructed to turn the ship towards the west, he replied "Everything looks wrong, even the ocean looks strange". A Navy search was set out into the Atlantic that went on for weeks, but no trace was ever found of the aircraft or crew. The search team included a Martin Mariner, which blew up just after 23 minutes into its flight.

On 27 December 1948, a commercial flight flying from Puerto Rico towards Florida met with a similar fate. NC-16002 DC-3 radioed Miami that they were 50 miles out and all set to accept landing instructions. After Miami radioed back the instructions, it waited for a reply of confirmation but none came. After three hours, a search and rescue team was dispatched to trace the missing aircraft. No trace, what so ever, was found!

Bermuda Triangle Theories

A lot of authors, who have written on the Bermuda Triangle, have put forward supernatural theories to explain the disappearance of various ships and places in this region.

One such explanation theory for Bermuda Triangle episode puts blame on leftover technology from the lost continent of Atlantis. At times the submerged rock formation called ‘Bimini Road’ off the island of Bimini in the Bahamas is linked to the Atlantis story. The Bimini Road is believed to exist within the Bermuda Triangle as per some theories.

There are other writers about the Bermuda Triangle who associate the events to UFOs. This idea was used in the Hollywood film ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ by famous director Steven Spielberg. It features the lost ‘Flight 19’ as being abducted by the aliens.

Charles Berlitz, the grandson of an illustrious linguist and author of many additional books on anomalous phenomena, too has commented on these extraordinary events. He has explained the losses in the Devil’s Triangle to anomalous or unexplained forces.

The Triangle area

The boundaries of the Triangle vary with the author; some stating its shape is akin to a trapezoid covering the Straits of Florida, the Bahamas and the entire Caribbean island area and the Atlantic east to the Azores; others add to it the Gulf of Mexico. The more familiar, triangular boundary in most written works has as its points somewhere on the Atlantic coast of Florida; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and the mid-Atlantic island of Bermuda, with most of the accidents concentrated along the southern boundary around the Bahamas and the Florida Straits.

The area of the Triangle varies by author.

The area is one of the most heavily-sailed shipping lanes in the world, with ships crossing through it daily for ports in the Americas, Europe, and the Caribbean Islands. Cruise ships are also plentiful, and pleasure craft regularly go back and forth between Florida and the islands. It is also a heavily flown route for commercial and private aircraft heading towards Florida, the Caribbean and South America from points north.

The Gulf Stream ocean current flows through the Triangle after leaving the Gulf of Mexico; its current of five to six knots may have played a part in a number of disappearances. Sudden storms can and do appear, and in the summer to late fall hurricanes strike the area. The combination of heavy maritime traffic and tempestuous weather makes it inevitable that vessels could founder in storms and be lost without a trace – especially before improved telecommunications, radar and satellite technology arrived late in the 20th century.^[5]

History of the Triangle story

According to the Triangle authors, Christopher Columbus was the first person to document something strange in the Triangle, reporting that he and his crew observed "strange dancing lights on the horizon", flames in the sky, and at another point he wrote in his log about bizarre compass bearings in the area. From his log book, dated October 11, 1492 he wrote:^[6]

"The land was first seen by a sailor (Rodrigo de Triana), although the Admiral at ten o'clock that evening standing on the quarter-deck saw a light, but so small a body that he could not affirm it to be land; calling to Pero Gutiérrez, groom of the King's wardrobe, he told him he saw a light, and bid him look that way, which he did and saw it; he did the same to Rodrigo Sánchez of Segovia, whom the King and Queen had sent with the squadron as comptroller, but he was unable to see it from his situation. The Admiral again perceived it once or twice, appearing like the light of a wax candle moving up and down, which some thought an indication of land. But the Admiral held it for certain that land was near..."

Modern scholars checking the original log books have surmised that the lights he saw were the cooking fires of Taino natives in their canoes or on the beach; the compass problems were the result of a false reading based on the movement of a star.^{[citation needed]}

The first article of any kind in which the legend of the Triangle began appeared in newspapers by E.V.W. Jones on September 16, 1950, through the Associated Press.^[7] Two years later, Fate magazine published "Sea Mystery At Our Back Door" ^[8], a short article by George X. Sand covering the loss of several planes and ships, including the loss of Flight 19, a group of five U.S. Navy TBM Avenger bombers on a training mission. Sand's article was the first to lay out the now-familiar triangular area where the losses took place. Flight 19 alone would be covered in the April 1962 issue of American Legion Magazine.^[9] It was claimed that the flight leader had been heard saying "We are entering white water, nothing seems right. We don't know where we are, the water is green, no white." It was also claimed that officials at the Navy board of inquiry stated that the planes "flew off to Mars." This was the first article to connect the supernatural to Flight 19, but it would take another author, Vincent Gaddis, writing in the February 1964 Argosy magazine to take Flight 19 together with other mysterious disappearances and place it under the umbrella of a new catchy name: "The Deadly Bermuda Triangle";^[10] he would build on that article with a more detailed book, Invisible Horizons, the next year.^[11] Others would follow with their own works: John Wallace Spencer (Limbo of the Lost, 1969, repr. 1973) ^[12]; Charles Berlitz (The Bermuda Triangle, 1974)^[13]; Richard Winer (The Devil's Triangle, 1974) ^[14], and many others, all keeping to some of the same supernatural elements outlined by Eckert.^[15]

Kusche's explanation

Lawrence David Kusche, a research librarian from Arizona State University and author of The Bermuda Triangle Mystery: Solved (1975)^[16] has challenged this trend. Kusche's research revealed a number of inaccuracies and inconsistencies between Berlitz's accounts and statements from eyewitnesses, participants, and others involved in the initial incidents. He noted cases where pertinent information went unreported, such as the disappearance of round-the-world yachtsman Donald Crowhurst, which Berlitz had presented as a mystery, despite clear evidence to the contrary. Another example was the ore-carrier Berlitz recounted as lost without trace three days out of an Atlantic port when it had been lost three days out of a port with the same name in the Pacific Ocean. Kusche also argued that a large percentage of the incidents which have sparked the Triangle's mysterious influence actually occurred well outside it. Often his research was surprisingly simple: he would go over period newspapers and see items like weather reports that were never mentioned in the stories.

Kusche came to a conclusion:

The number of ships and aircraft reported missing in the area was not significantly greater, proportionally speaking, than in any other part of the ocean.
In an area frequented by tropical storms, the number of disappearances that did occur were, for the most part, neither disproportionate, unlikely, nor mysterious; furthermore, Berlitz and other writers would often fail to mention such storms.
The numbers themselves had been exaggerated by sloppy research. A boat listed as missing would be reported, but its eventual (if belated) return to port may not have been reported.
Some disappearances had in fact, never happened. One plane crash was said to have taken place in 1937 off Daytona Beach, Florida, in front of hundreds of witnesses; a check of the local papers revealed nothing.

Kusche concluded that:

The Legend of the Bermuda Triangle is a manufactured mystery… perpetuated by writers who either purposely or unknowingly made use of misconceptions, faulty reasoning, and sensationalism. ^[16] §Epilogue, p. 277

Other responses

The marine insurer Lloyd's of London has determined the Triangle to be no more dangerous than any other area of ocean, and does not charge unusual rates for passage through the region. United States Coast Guard records confirm their conclusion. In fact, the number of supposed disappearances is relatively insignificant considering the number of ships and aircraft which pass through on a regular basis.

The Coast Guard is also officially skeptical of the Triangle, noting that they collect and publish, through their inquiries, much documentation^[17] contradicting many of the incidents written about by the Triangle authors. In one such incident involving the 1972 explosion and sinking of the tanker V.A. Fogg in the Gulf of Mexico, the Coast Guard photographed the wreck and recovered several bodies^[18], in contrast with one Triangle author's claim that all the bodies had vanished, with the exception of the captain, who was found sitting in his cabin at his desk, clutching a coffee cup. ^[12]

The NOVA / Horizon episode The Case of the Bermuda Triangle (1976-06-27) was highly critical, stating that "When we've gone back to the original sources or the people involved, the mystery evaporates. Science does not have to answer questions about the Triangle because those questions are not valid in the first place. ... Ships and planes behave in the Triangle the same way they behave everywhere else in the world."^[19]

Skeptical researchers, such as Ernest Taves^[20] and Barry Singer^[21], have noted how mysteries and the paranormal are very popular and profitable. This has led to the production of vast amounts of material on topics such as the Bermuda Triangle. They were able to show that some of the pro-paranormal material is often misleading or inaccurate, but its producers continue to market it. Accordingly, they have claimed that the market is biased in favour of books, TV specials, etc. which support the Triangle mystery, and against well-researched material if it espouses a skeptical viewpoint.

Finally, if the Triangle is assumed to cross land, such as parts of Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, or Bermuda itself, there is no evidence for the disappearance of any land-based vehicles or persons. The city of Freeport, located inside the Triangle, operates a major shipyard and an airport which annually handles 50,000 flights, and is visited by over a million tourists a year.

Natural explanations

An explanation for some of the disappearances has focused on the presence of vast fields of methane hydrates on the continental shelves. Laboratory experiments carried out in Australia have proven that bubbles can, indeed, sink a scale model ship by decreasing the density of the water^[22]; any wreckage consequently rising to the surface would be rapidly dispersed by the Gulf Stream. It has been hypothesized that periodic methane eruptions (sometimes called "mud volcanoes") may produce regions of frothy water that are no longer capable of providing adequate buoyancy for ships. If this were the case, such an area forming around a ship could cause it to sink very rapidly and without warning.

A white paper was published in 1981 by the United States Geological Survey about the appearance of hydrates in the Blake Ridge area, off the southeastern United States coast.^[23] However, according to a USGS web page, no large releases of gas hydrates are believed to have occurred in the Bermuda Triangle for the past 15,000 years.^[24]

Compass variations

Compass problems are one of the cited phrases in many Triangle incidents. Some have theorized the possibility of unusual local magnetic anomalies in the area, however these have not been shown to exist. It should also be remembered that compasses have natural magnetic variations in relation to the Magnetic poles. For example, in the United States the only places where magnetic (compass) north and geographic (true) north are exactly the same are on a line running from Wisconsin to the Gulf of Mexico. Navigators have known this for centuries. But the public may not be as informed and think there is something mysterious about the compass "changing" across an area as large as the Triangle, which it naturally will.

Hurricanes

Hurricanes are powerful storms which are spawned in tropical waters, and have historically been responsible for thousands of lives lost and billions of dollars in damage. The sinking of Francisco de Bobadilla's Spanish fleet in 1502 was the first recorded instance of a destructive hurricane. These storms have in the past caused a number of incidents related to the Triangle.

Gulf Stream

The Gulf Stream is an ocean current that originates in the Gulf of Mexico, and then through the Straits of Florida, into the North Atlantic. In essence, it is a river within an ocean, and like a river, it can and does carry floating objects. A small plane making a water landing or a boat having engine trouble will be carried away from its reported position by the current, as happened to the cabin cruiser Witchcraft on December 22, 1967, when it reported engine trouble near the Miami buoy marker one mile (1.6 km) from shore, but was not there when a Coast Guard cutter arrived.

Freak waves

Main article: Rogue wave (oceanography)

Extremely large waves can appear seemingly at random, even in calm seas. One such rogue wave caused the Ocean Ranger, then the world's largest offshore platform, to capsize off the coast of Newfoundland in 1982. There is, however, no particular reason to believe rogue waves are more common in the Bermuda region, and this explanation cannot account for the loss of airplanes.

Acts of man

Human error

One of the most cited explanations in official inquiries as to the loss of any aircraft or vessel is human error. Whether deliberate or accidental, humans have been known to make mistakes resulting in catastrophe, and losses within the Bermuda Triangle are no exception. For example, the Coast Guard cited a lack of proper training for the cleaning of volatile benzene residue as a reason for the loss of the tanker V.A. Fogg in 1972. Human stubbornness may have caused businessman Harvey Conover to lose his sailing yacht, the Revonoc, as he sailed into the teeth of a storm south of Florida on January 1, 1958. Many losses remain inconclusive due to the lack of wreckage which could be studied, a fact cited on many official reports.

Deliberate acts of destruction

This can fall into two categories: acts of war, and acts of piracy. Records in enemy files have been checked for numerous losses; while many sinkings have been attributed to surface raiders or submarines during the World Wars and documented in the various command log books, many others which have been suspected as falling in that category have not been proven; it is suspected that the loss of USS Cyclops in 1918, as well as her sister ships Proteus and Nereus in World War II, were attributed to submarines, but no such link has been found in the German records.

Piracy, as defined by the taking of a ship or small boat on the high seas, is an act which continues to this day. While piracy for cargo theft is more common in the western Pacific and Indian oceans, drug smugglers do steal pleasure boats for smuggling operations, and may have been involved in crew and yacht disappearances in the Caribbean. Historically famous pirates of the Caribbean (where piracy was common from about 1560 to the 1760s) include Edward Teach (Blackbeard) and Jean Lafitte. Lafitte is sometimes said to be a Triangle victim himself.

Another form of pirate operated on dry land. Bankers or wreckers would shine a light on shore to misdirect ships, which would then founder on the shore; the wreckers would then help themselves to the cargo. It is possible that these wreckers also killed any crew who protested. Nags Head, North Carolina, was named for the wreckers' practice of hanging a lantern on the head of a hobbled horse as it walked along the beach.

Popular theories

Triangle writers have used a number of supernatural theories to explain the events. One explanation pins the blame on leftover technology from the mythical lost continent of Atlantis. Sometimes connected to the Atlantis story is the submerged rock formation known as the Bimini Road off the island of Bimini in the Bahamas, which is in the Triangle by some definitions. Followers of the purported psychic Edgar Cayce take his prediction that evidence of Atlantis would be found in 1968 as referring to the discovery of the Bimini Road. Believers describe the formation as a road, wall, or other structure, though geologists consider it to be of natural origin.^[25]

Other writers attribute the events to UFOs. This idea was used by Steven Spielberg for his film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which features the lost Flight 19 as alien abductees.

Charles Berlitz, grandson of a distinguished linguist and author of various additional books on anomalous phenomena, has kept in line with this extraordinary explanation, and attributed the losses in the Triangle to anomalous or unexplained forces. ^[13]

Famous incidents

Flight 19

Flight 19 was a training flight of TBM Avenger bombers that went missing on December 5, 1945 while over the Atlantic. The impression is given that the flight encountered unusual phenomena and anomalous compass readings, and that the flight took place on a calm day under the supervision of an experienced pilot, Lt. Charles Carroll Taylor. Adding to the intrigue is that the Navy's report of the accident was ascribed to "causes or reasons unknown." It is believed that Taylor's mother wanted to save her son's reputation, so she made them write "reasons unknown" when actually Taylor was 50 km NW from where he thought he was. ^[26]

While the basic facts of this version of the story are essentially accurate, some important details are missing. The weather was becoming stormy by the end of the incident; only Taylor had any significant flying time, but he was not familiar with the south Florida area and had a history of getting lost in flight, having done so three times during World War II, and being forced to ditch his planes twice into the water; and naval reports and written recordings of the conversations between Taylor and the other pilots of Flight 19 do not indicate magnetic problems.^[26]

Mary Celeste

The mysterious abandonment in 1872 of the Mary Celeste is often but inaccurately connected to the Triangle, the ship having been abandoned off the coast of Portugal. The event is possibly confused with the sinking of a ship with a similar name, the Mari Celeste, off the coast of Bermuda on September 13, 1864. ^[27] Kusche noted that many of the "facts" about this incident were actually about the Marie Celeste, the fictional ship from Arthur Conan Doyle's short story "J. Habakuk Jephson's Statement" (based on the real Mary Celeste incident, but fictionalised).

Ellen Austin

The Ellen Austin supposedly came across an abandoned derelict, placed on board a prize crew, and attempted to sail with it to New York in 1881. According to the stories, the derelict disappeared; others elaborating further that the derelict reappeared minus the prize crew, then disappeared again with a second prize crew on board. A check of Lloyd's of London records proved the existence of the Meta, built in 1854; in 1880 the Meta was renamed Ellen Austin. There are no casualty listings for this vessel, or any vessel at that time, that would suggest a large number of missing men placed on board a derelict which later disappeared.^[28]

USS Cyclops

Main article: USS Cyclops (AC-4)

The incident resulting in the single largest loss of life in the history of the US Navy not related to combat occurred when USS Cyclops under the command of Lt Cdr G. W. Worley, went missing without a trace with a crew of 309 sometime after March 4, 1918, after departing the island of Barbados. Although there is no strong evidence for any theory, storms, capsizing and enemy activity have all been suggested as explanations.^[29]^[30]

Theodosia Burr Alston

Main article: Theodosia Burr Alston

Theodosia Burr Alston was the daughter of former United States Vice President Aaron Burr. Her disappearance has been cited at least once in relation to the Triangle. ^[31] She was a passenger on board the Patriot, which sailed from Charleston, South Carolina to New York City on December 30, 1812, and was never heard from again. Both piracy and the War of 1812 have been posited as explanations, as well as a theory placing her in Texas, well outside the Triangle.

Spray

Main article: Spray (sailing vessel)

Captain Joshua Slocum's skill as a mariner was beyond argument; he was the first man to sail around the world solo. In 1909, in his boat Spray he set out on a course to take him through the Caribbean to Venezuela. He disappeared; there was no evidence he was even in the Triangle when Spray was lost. It was assumed he was run down by a steamer or struck by a whale, the Spray being too sound a craft and Slocum too experienced a mariner for any other cause to be considered likely, and in 1924 he was declared legally dead. While a mystery, there is no known evidence of paranormal activity.

Carroll A. Deering

Main article: Carroll A. Deering

A five-masted schooner built in 1919, the Carroll A. Deering was found hard aground and abandoned at Diamond Shoals, near Cape Hatteras, North Carolina on January 31, 1921. Rumors and more at the time indicated the Deering was a victim of piracy, possibly connected with the illegal rum-running trade during Prohibition, and possibly involving another ship, S.S. Hewitt, which disappeared at roughly the same time. Just hours later, an unknown steamer sailed near the lightship along the track of the Deering, and ignored all signals from the lightship. It is speculated that the Hewitt may have been this mystery ship, and possibly involved in the Deering crew's disappearance.^[32]

Douglas DC-3

Main article: NC16002 disappearance

On December 28, 1948, a Douglas DC-3 aircraft, number NC16002, disappeared while on a flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Miami. No trace of the aircraft or the 32 people onboard was ever found. From the documentation compiled by the Civil Aeronautics Board investigation, a possible key to the plane's disappearance was found, but barely touched upon by the Triangle writers: the plane's batteries were inspected and found to be low on charge, but ordered back into the plane without a recharge by the pilot while in San Juan. Whether or not this led to complete electrical failure will never be known. However, since piston-engined aircraft rely upon magnetos to provide spark to their cylinders rather than a battery powered ignition coil system, this theory is not strongly convincing.^[33]

Star Tiger and Star Ariel

Main article: Star Tiger and Star Ariel

These Avro Tudor IV passenger aircraft disappeared without trace en route to Bermuda and Jamaica, respectively. Star Tiger was lost on January 30, 1948 on a flight from the Azores to Bermuda. Star Ariel was lost on January 17, 1949, on a flight from Bermuda to Kingston, Jamaica. Neither aircraft gave out a distress call; in fact, their last messages were routine. A possible clue to their disappearance was found in the mountains of the Andes in 1998: the Star Dust, an Avro Lancastrian airliner run by the same airline, had disappeared on a flight from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Santiago, Chile on August 2, 1947. The plane's remains were discovered at the melt end of a glacier, suggesting that either the crew did not pay attention to their instruments, suffered an instrument failure or did not allow for headwind effects from the jetstream on the way to Santiago when it hit a mountain peak, with the resulting avalanche burying the remains and incorporating it into the glacier. However, this is mere speculation with regard to the Star Tiger and Star Ariel, pending the recovery of the aircraft. It should be noted that the Star Tiger was flying at a height of just 2,000 feet (610 m), which would have meant that if the plane was forced down, there would have been no time to send out a distress message. It is also far too low for the jetstream or any other high-altitude wind to have any effect.^[34]

KC-135 Stratotankers

On August 28, 1963 a pair of U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft collided and crashed into the Atlantic. The Triangle version (Winer, Berlitz, Gaddis ^[14]^[13]^[10]) of this story specifies that they did collide and crash, but there were two distinct crash sites, separated by over 160 miles (260 km) of water. However, Kusche's research^[16] showed that the unclassified version of the Air Force investigation report stated that the debris field defining the second "crash site" was examined by a search and rescue ship, and found to be a mass of seaweed and driftwood tangled in an old buoy.

SS Marine Sulphur Queen

Main article: SS Marine Sulphur Queen

SS Marine Sulphur Queen, a T2 tanker converted from oil to sulfur carrier, was last heard from on February 4, 1963 with a crew of 39 near the Florida Keys. Marine Sulphur Queen was the first vessel mentioned in Vincent Gaddis' 1964 Argosy Magazine article,^[10] but he left it as having "sailed into the unknown", despite the Coast Guard report which not only documented the ship's badly-maintained history, but declared that it was an unseaworthy vessel that should never have gone to sea.^[35]^[36]

Raifuku Maru

One of the more famous incidents in the Triangle took place in 1921 (some say a few years later), when the Japanese vessel Raifuku Maru (sometimes misidentified as Raikuke Maru) went down with all hands after sending a distress signal which allegedly said "Danger like dagger now. Come quick!", or "It's like a dagger, come quick!" This has led writers to speculate on what the "dagger" was, with a waterspout being the likely candidate (Winer). In reality the ship was nowhere near the Triangle, nor was the word "dagger" a part of the ship's distress call ("Now very danger. Come quick."); having left Boston for Hamburg, Germany, on April 21, 1925, she got caught in a severe storm and sank in the North Atlantic with all hands while another ship, RMS Homeric, attempted an unsuccessful rescue.^[37]

Connemara IV

A pleasure yacht found adrift in the Atlantic south of Bermuda on September 26, 1955; it is usually stated in the stories (Berlitz, Winer ^[13]^[14]) that the crew vanished while the yacht survived being at sea during three hurricanes. The 1955 Atlantic hurricane season lists only one storm coming near Bermuda towards the end of August, hurricane "Edith"; of the others, "Flora" was too far to the east, and "Katie" arrived after the yacht was recovered. It was confirmed that the Connemara IV was empty and in port when "Edith" may have caused the yacht to slip her moorings and drift out to sea.^{[citation needed]}

JUPITER, VENUS and The MOON gives a smile......

Over the last week the two planets moved closer together so that they appeared no more than two degrees apart, which equates to a finger's width when held out at arm's length.

As they were joined by the moon on Monday night photographers around the world – from Bangkok to Kenya – captured the image.

"This certainly is an unusual coincidence for the crescent moon to be right there in the days when they are going to be closest together," said Alan MacRobert, senior editor of Sky and Telescope magazine.

The moon is the brightest, closest and smallest of the three and is 252,000 miles away. Venus, the second brightest, closest and smallest, is 94 million miles away, while Jupiter is 540 million miles away.

The three celestial objects come together from time to time, but often they are too close to the sun or unite at a time when they are less visible.

The next time the three will be as close and visible as this week will be Nov 18, 2052, according to Jack Horkheimer, director of the Miami Space Transit Planetarium.

Ang saya ngayon hehehe...... May reunion kami mga members of S.A.P. Productions.... We enjoy here hehehe...... Reunion of S.A.P. Productions yeh!..... We created S.A.P. when it is the second monthly or second periodical test test two of my classmate ( jenny and francis ) we review our lessons.... We have fun at our house.... We study only the subject SCIENCE.... because Francis is exempted at the test because he is part of bulprisa competition..... Uh? we get high scores in science even now...... I choose S.A.P. Productions for the name of the club because when we are talking about our crushes... I decided to have an truth and consequence.... a game that held to a truth conversation(i invented the name).. Where Francis and Jenny hide their names to Shikamaru(a naruto's friend hidden name of francis) allison for jenny.... And kinabukasan my classmate Francis wrote the names Shikamaru, Allison and Patricia in a test folder... After that we signed it then.... Something happen that I said SAP for acronym of Shikamaru, Allison and Patricia and then I add Productions in the end so that is the kasaysayan of it.... !!!!

Hehehe.... Dameng assignments and projects next month is the submition....... We will have our periodical test next month whahahahahhahha so dead..!! :D

this is one of my happy day. i laugh every time. we have many projects, assignments, activities to do... we sleep late everyday only to do our projects, assignments, activities and many more... but i loved the school 'cause i see my friends and classmates and other relative in the school.. i'm little bit sad because i will transfer to another school that's so sad :[..... but i can meet new friends there... next year i will graduate i will be a high school student... many things will happen... and high school life is not easy.... tira-tira!!! hehehehehhe......
